How do I manage guest mode for my Turo rental vehicle?
Guest mode and pin to drive settings can be controlled from the Teslemetry rental management page at https://teslemetry.com/console/rental. This page allows you to:
- Enable or disable guest mode for each vehicle in your fleet
- Set or remove pin to drive requirements
- View current driver status for each vehicle
Can my Turo cohosts send vehicle access without my Tesla app?
Cohosts can send vehicle access through Teslemetry if they have access to your Tesla account login for Teslemetry. However, if cohosts have their own separate Tesla accounts, they would need their own Teslemetry account and subscription.
Turo does not share much information about renters, which limits what automation is possible.
How do I send a guest key link to renters in advance?
Guest key links are one-time use only. Once a renter uses a link to add themselves as a driver, that link cannot be reused. You need to generate a new invitation for each rental.
Pre-generating QR code links for future renters is not currently supported. You can generate driver invitations through:
- The Tesla app under Security & Drivers > Add Driver
- The Teslemetry rental management page at https://teslemetry.com/console/rental
What happens to keys when a rental reservation ends?
When using rental automation features, all keys may be removed when the reservation ends, including keys belonging to cohosts. This is because it is very difficult to distinguish between renter keys and cohost keys.
A whitelist feature to protect certain drivers from removal is planned but not yet available.
